Christianity has been present in Macedonia for almost 2000 years. In Jesus' day, Macedonia was one of the most prominent provinces in the Roman Empire and Act 16 records a Macedonian appearing to Paul in a vision and inviting him to come and help, making Macedonia (Philippi, and then Thessaloniki and Beria) the first European territory to receive the gospel. Although Macedonia has the oldest tradition of Christianity in Europe, it is now considered one of the least evangelised countries in Europe with a great need for the gospel. It wasn't until 1990 that the first full version of the Bible was translated into Macedonian and many Macedonian students don't know what it means to have a relationship with Jesus.
Today Macedonian students are very much influenced by the west. The majority of students are fluent in English, people-oriented, coffee-loving with a pineapple mentality: on the outside hard, but inside sweet and soft, you just need some time to get to that point!

Receiving Needs
North Macedonia needs short term teams for projects or specific tasks:
Our summer projects are always a place to welcome teams from different places. They usually take place in July.
North Macedonia needs long term teams to serve:
Since there are so many students, but not that many staff people, it is our need to have a long term staff to join our team.
Sending Opportunities
What sending is happening right now from your country? (Short term, long term, etc)
For the short term we are sending short-term trips to Serbia
What are your dreams and vision for sending in within the next two years?
We would love to see students from our country being sent on short term projects, not just in Serbia, but beyond. There are not many of them, but the ones we have, need to be exposed to the Missional gap and pass it on to the new generations.
