Lithuania is a small country with almost 2.8 million inhabitants. Formerly part of the Soviet union, now being independent for more than 30 years, Lithuania strives to detach itself from soviet and slavic heritage to become modern European and Western country in its values. That results in country’s economical improvement, yet spiritual and moral decline. While most of the people counts themselves as a Catholic (more than 70%), the generation under 40 years of age rather choose “neo-pagan” lifestyle. Anti-God, anti-Bible, anti-Church, pro-LGBTQ+ and other ideologies and mindsets are spreading like wildfire among young people and especially students. All these tendencies also prevail in a political sphere, which is quite new thing for historically conservative Catholic country like Lithuania.
Despite of such reality campus ministry students are not in despair. We always have hope. We know that the the birth and exploration of Christianity in Roman empire happened during much more evil times. We serve God with whom nothing is impossible.
Being a relatively small team (up to 10 dedicated students leaders on national level), we are thankful to God for raising faithful people each year who sacrificially seek to make Christ’s disciples on Lithuanian campuses by winning, building and sending them to do the same for God’s Glory.
We invite and welcome any Agape/CRU volunteers worldwide for short term-missions (up to 3-8 weeks). In the past we benefited greatly from teams that came and did a lot of focused one-on-one campus evangelism and were looking for a potential Christian student volunteers.
Being a small team and having only 2 staff, we value if helping team comes already trained, i.e, knowing how to share the Gospel, use some evangelical and discipleship tools, and being able to cast vision for Christian students.
On average Lithuanian students speak and understand English pretty well. Most of them will be very open and willing to participate in a spiritual conversation which is relatively easy to start on campus.

Lithuania's Long term team needs:
If a person or a team has a strong personal conviction about God’s call to serve in Lithuania long term, we would love to get to know them and with open heart, prayerfully consider that opportunity.
