About Latvia

Latvia is a small, beautiful country of 1.8 million. Formerly part of the Soviet Union, it has been independent for more than 30 years and strives to become a modern European and Western country in its own right. While 55% of the people consider themselves Christians, Latvia could be considered one of the least religious countries in the world. 49% of Latvians say they are not affiliated with any religion and trends indicate that the Christian proportion is set to shrink over the coming years.

Agape Latvia has been active on campuses for more than 25 years. We want to help students stay strong spiritually during university by building communities where they can encounter Jesus together, share God’s love with others, strengthen each other for the challenges of student life, and impact the world. In addition to local students, the world is coming to us! With 10,000+ international students studying in Latvia we have immense opportunities to impact global future leaders with the love of Jesus.
