Finland has student movements in three university cities with the goal of building up multiplying disciple making movements amongst students. At the moment they're looking for a new generation of student leaders who are committed to lead their friends to Jesus. Finland is currently focussing on establishing small groups where students can go deeper both in their relationship with each other and God and grow up as disciples who make disciples for Jesus.
Students in Finland are critical of the church but open spiritually. They are especially interested in hearing experiences and testimonies about faith and Jesus.
Currently Finland's biggest need is to encourage and support Christian students to live out their faith in Jesus openly amongst their student colleagues. Their goal is to support and train students to live out as disciples who make disciples to Jesus and find students who are committed to build and lead multiplying disciple making movement at campuses. Recently they've seen a number of students who are open to getting to know Jesus personally. The challenge now is just need to more interested students so they can serve them!
Receiving Needs/Desires
Short term team for projects or specific tasks:
To go out to campuses and help us to find students who follow Christ and are willing to join the student-led movements
To go out to campuses and reach out students who don’t know Jesus but are spiritually open
Long term team to serve in your country:
Help us to build up SLM in new locations, both new campuses and cities.
Sending Opportunities/Desires
Our dream is to develop partnerships, especially with other Nordic and Baltic countries, so we can both send and receive teams regularly. We'd love to focus on short term teams who can visit different locations at least 1-2 times every year.
