Education. Healthcare. Minimalistic design. Bicycles. Caring for the environment. Denmark is a small, yet influential country, that is proud of many things.
When it comes to religion, Danish society prides itself on becoming increasingly secular while maintaining the morals and concern for the common well-being of its people. While 75% of the nearly 6 million Danes are members of the Lutheran Church, few actively practice their faith.
The Agape movement in Denmark, AgapeLiv, was started in 2016. Although the beginnings were with SLM, our focus has since evolved towards working with young professionals—something few others are doing here. Many Danish believers resonate with the idea of integrating their faith in their everyday life, but find it challenging to know how to do that in a culture that values keeping the professional and the personal separate.
As much as we would love to have all the right answers, we don’t. But we can learn. We can journey with people as they face the complexities of their day-to-day. We can create spaces for people to navigate those challenges in community.
We want to see people in every segment of society who seek to love God with all their heart, soul, and mind; and who seek to love their neighbor as themselves.
Receiving Needs
We are looking for individuals to join us in working with young professionals whether full-time or as a volunteer.
