TROY HEATON MAED
I have been in Education for over 20 years. I started my career in Education working as a math teacher at River Valley High School in Mohave Valley Arizona. I have lived in Arizona, Vermont, Montana, Utah, Alaska and have worked for over five year in New School Development with the creation of Bromley Brook School in Vermont and Bitterroot Crossing Program School in Montana. I was born and raised in Northern Arizona off the North Rim of the Grand Canyon and love to hunt and fish in this state. I believe that all students can learn but life does happen. If we continue to give students the opportunity to learn not just math, but how to live with other and even ourselves, they will. Our students must understand that the most important lesson in life are not necessarily learned in books, it is the day in and day out lesson that help us become better students in life.

I grew up in Northern MN. I moved to Bullhead City in 2001 to teach at Desert Valley Elementary. My original degree is in Elementary Education, and I am currently finishing my Secondary Education in English certification.
This is my 2nd year teaching at CRUHSD Academy, and I plan to be here for many years to come!

I have been in education for over 40 years. I was born and raised right here in Bullhead City AZ . I received my degree from Loma Linda University and a Masters of Education from Grand Canyon University. I look forward to working with the students at CRUHSD Academy as the Title 1 ELA Tutor.

DAVID HANNON
I am from the Bakersfield, CA area. I moved to Arizona seven years ago. I have a BS in Statistics and an MAED in Secondary Education.
This is my fifth year of teaching at CRUHSD Academy. I teach all of the core (not credit recovery) math classes.
I believe all students have the desire to learn new things. My goal is to nurture that desire by teaching students skills and knowledge they will need in any job or aspect of life. Helen Keller said, “A well-educated mind will always have more questions than answers.” I will do my best to supply as many answers as I can and look for the answers I don’t have.

CRUHSD ACADEMY: HISTORY INSTRUCTOR
BROCK BARROWS
Mr. B came to CRUHSD Academy via Ban BoSang, Thailand where he was teaching English Language Aquisition and learning about new cultures.
His career stems over several decades encumbering several sectors including Logistics & Distribution, Financial, Governmental, and now Educational field. He began his studies early in life working towards a Paralegal certification, and then eventually years later received his Associate’s in Science degree in Administration of Justice. Then transfered to the Califiornia State University San Bernardino where he received his Bachelor’s degree in History, along with being published in the national award winning ‘History in the Making” journal that is produced by the Social Studies Dept at Cal State. He has taught in the West coast, East coast,and Hawaii. He has also traveled internationally extensively and can get by in a few foreign languages. Mr.B’s personal philosophy about education is that; education is a gift that was fostered to us from all that have survived history’s event that led you, your parents and your grand parents to where you now stand in that long lineage.
Mr. B feels firmly believes that life is a journey, and not just a destination.
CRUHSD ACADEMY: SCIENCE INSTRUCTOR
JUVICEL DE GUZMAN
I was born and raised in Manila, Philippines and have moved to Arizona in 2018 to join the J1 Cultural Exchange Program for Teachers. This is my 3rd year of teaching Science here in the United States and 11th year in education.
I have completed 39 credits of Master’s coursework in General Science from the Philippine Normal University and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education major in Physics from the same university.
I enjoy traveling, being outdoors, taking photos, writing, listening to rock, alternative and indie music, and reading books.
I will be here to guide you, support you, and I hope that our class will be a medium through which you will learn life skills that are critical for your success in college and future careers.
With this, I am looking forward to a great semester with all of you.
