Welcome to Gifted Support
Meet the Teacher: Mrs. McQuillan
Hello everyone! I am the Gifted Support Teacher at Churchville. I love that I get the opportunity to learn and grow with my students year after year. We delve deeply into Social Studies & Science and engage in enrichment activities. Over the years, I've loved developing relationships with students, exploring new ways of thinking and looking at the world through different perspectives. It's important for me to engage with all Churchville students and have a positive impact on our school community.
I grew up in Richboro and went to Richboro Elementary School, Richboro Middle School and Council Rock High School (before there was a North and South). I graduated from Lock Haven University with my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education and have my Master's Degree in Education from Cabrini College. I taught in the Philadelphia School District at the middle school level for the first 5 years of my career and have been teaching in Council Rock ever since. This year will be my 28th year of teaching!
My family is very important to me. My parents still live in Richboro and they love to cycle long distances as much as I do. You'll often find us riding through the hills of Bucks County on the weekends. In September we'll participate in the MS City to Shore. My brother and his family live in Canada and we visit them as often as we can. My husband helps run his family's taxi cab company in Philadelphia. We have two boys (Joey and Owen) a cat (Ella) and puppy (Gracie). Joey is 24 and graduated from Drexel University last June. Owen is 18 and rising senior at Central Bucks West. We enjoy spending time together swimming at the pool, going on adventures and traveling, visiting my brother and his family in Canada, listening to music (but we all have very different tastes!) and playing UNO.
Our D-9 Family is ALSO very important to me. I'm so fortunate to have the opportunity to teach amazing groups of students year after year. Every day is an opportunity to learn together and grow our class community. We share, collaborate and continue to build and strengthen our knowledge and critical thinking skills throughout each year. This year I look forward to all the memories we'll make together!
