Meet Mrs. Smith
Dear First Grade Families,
Welcome to the start of an exciting new school year! My name is Lauren Smith, and I’m thrilled to be your child’s first grade teacher. This will be my 12th year teaching, but my very first year in first grade — and I couldn’t be more excited for this new adventure!
I bring a background in both regular and special education, with degrees from Millersville University in Elementary and Special Education, as well as a Master’s in Education and a certification in Teaching English as a Second Language from Cabrini University. I am passionate about creating an inclusive, supportive classroom environment where every child feels seen, valued, and empowered to grow.
I currently live in Churchville with my husband Nick and our two wonderful kids — Riley, who turns 4 in October, and Avery, who will be 1 in November. We also have two dogs, Lilly and Jaxon, who help keep things lively at home! My love for working with children runs deep — both of my parents were teachers, and my own journey in education began early through my family's involvement at Southampton Summer Day Camp. I’ve been part of that community since I was 3 years old, and I now serve as the Director of Camper Care. This summer was especially meaningful, as I got to share it with my son, Riley.
When I’m not in the classroom, I love spending time with family and friends, cheering on the Eagles, and making magical memories at Disney World. Most of all, I’m passionate about helping students reach their full potential and develop a lifelong love for learning.
I’m so looking forward to getting to know your child and working together to make this a joyful and successful year. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions, concerns, or just to say hello — communication and collaboration are key to a great school year!
Warmly,
Mrs. Lauren Smith
