Back to School Welcome Letter
August 2023
Dear Rolling Hills Sixth Grader,
We all look forward to a new school year and a special one for you - your last year in elementary school! Below is some information that will be helpful.
The sixth grade team includes Miss Hess, Mrs. Jaffe, Mrs. Seabrook, Mrs. Haas and Mrs. Metague. Miss Hess will teach Writing & Grammar, Mrs. Jaffe will teach Social Studies and Mrs. Seabrook will be your Science teacher. Reading and Math will be taught in your homeroom class. Mrs. Haas will be our Learning Support teacher, and Mrs. Metague will be our teacher assistant in 6th grade. You will see both of them throughout the day!
On opening day, you will be given your schedule for classes, and we are anxious to get rolling on the sixth grade curriculum, as well as building our classroom communities. We’ll have the opportunity to enhance our responsive classroom approach to taking care of ourselves and others as we investigate traits and qualities that make young adults successful.
We look forward to welcoming families back to Rolling Hills at our Meet and Greet on Thursday, August 31st from 11:00am-12:00pm. Feel free to come and explore the classrooms, meet your teachers, and drop off any materials you’d like to leave at school. Mrs. Jaffe is in room C-22, Mrs. Seabrook is in room C-23, Miss Hess is in room C-24, and Mrs. Haas is in room C-16.
If you haven’t yet taken a look at the 6th grade supply list, it can be located on the Rolling Hills website (6th Grade Supply List 2023-2024). On the first day of school, please remember a healthy snack, lunch or lunch money, and an independent reading book. September 5th seems far away, but it will be here before we know it! Enjoy the rest of your summer vacation and we’ll see you in your homeroom bright and early between 8:50 and 9:10 on Tuesday, September 5th! We can’t wait to meet you!
