Fifth grade is an exciting year, and we are happy to share your experience with you.  You will learn many new things this year, including taking on more responsibility for your learning!  In math, you will continue using the Bridges program.  You will learn multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, and geometry.  During our language arts time, we will be using Wonders, where you will have lots of work looking for text evidence and reading with a pencil!  In social studies, you will learn about the Age of Exploration, Colonization, and the Revolution.  Science is a fun experience.  This will be your opportunity to work with all of the teachers in 5th grade.  Each teacher covers a different topic.  These topics include the Night Sky, Ecosystems, and Physical/Chemical Changes.  

Fifth grade is not all learning. . . There will be some fun too!  We will have classroom parties near most holidays, a breakfast feast at Thanksgiving, a Bake Sale in December, Me Mag all year and a celebration for this in May, and a field trip!  

It's going to be a great year!
