Central Bucks SD (QUEST Teacher)
Engaging students in STEM- based challenges is a true passion of Bridget's. She believes there is nothing more powerful than teaching students how to become true thinkers and problem solvers. Empowering students to communicate their ideas, be flexible in their approach, open their minds to creative possibilities and apply critical thinking skills is the heart of what she can do each day in the Central Bucks School District.
Ms. Augustine works as a STEM teacher. Having co-authored her district’s and PA’s first dedicated STEM course as a special class for all students grades 1-6, Bridget is so proud of where the program stands six years later. She has the gratification of leaving word each day knowing that she engaged students in the above. Her 23 years in teaching also paved the way for her to work as the Instructional Coach in her elementary school. Most days if she is not teaching a STEM lesson, teaching a model lesson, or planning a unit with a colleague, she can be found creating staff development sessions for my staff. Bridget can also be found working as an Adjunct Professor at Eastern University where she is able to guide those that hope to be teachers one day.
When not in school, Bridget enjoys relaxing on the beach and painting. Each bring an element of calm and tranquility that she craves. Ms. Augustine is the mother of two teenage sons and four dogs.

Council Rock SD (QUEST Teacher)
Melissa is a QUEST teacher in the Central Bucks School District. She and nine of her colleagues wrote the program for grades 1-6 designed to include 21st century skills, coupled with engineering, science, and technology skills. Now six years since its inception, students have learned to use grit, determination, and perseverance to overcome challenges, adopt a growth mindset, and parallel this thinking in their classrooms.
Before teaching QUEST, Melissa taught grades 4-8 collectively, focusing on reading and language arts. She has also been on several committees, including a member of the language arts committee, the technology committee, and several other curriculum-writing groups with her colleagues. Melissa has two Master degrees -- one in administration and one in education.
When not teaching, Melissa enjoys spending time with her husband and two boys-- nine and eleven. They love to travel as a family, particularly when traveling for the boys' many basketball and lacrosse games. Her family loves the beach, hiking, and attending sporting events.
Melissa is also a published author. Her book, Connect Four, has been quite successful. She is also currently writing a children's book titled, Unsung and continues to add to her blog, "Mom of Goats."
