Hello fifth graders & families!
I hope you’ve all had a wonderful summer filled with sunshine, laughter, and a little bit of well-deserved relaxation. Whether you were poolside or beach-bound, I hope it was everything you needed before we dive into a brand new school year!
I am beyond excited to welcome you and your child to my 5th grade classroom! A little bit about me: I’m a proud Council Rock graduate, so it feels incredibly special to be teaching in the very district that shaped me. I earned my dual degree in Early Education (Pre-K–6) and Special Education (Pre-K–8) from West Chester University (go Rams!). I first began my teaching journey as a 5th grade Learning Support teacher at Wrightstown Elementary before moving into the regular education classroom at MMW. And now, lucky me, this is my 5th year teaching 5th grade! My lucky number used to be 7, but maybe I should make it 5...
This summer, I visited my sisters in Colorado where I hiked, paddle-boarded, tried new foods, and took lots of pictures. Speaking of which, I also spent the summer photographing weddings! Capturing moments of love and joy brings me so much happiness....almost as much as working with my incredible students.
Now it’s time to head back to M.M.W., and I can’t wait to meet all of you! We’ll kick things off with our Open House on Thursday, August 28th. Here's how it works:
🕑 New to M.M.W.? Pop in between 2:00–2:45 PM
🕝 Returning families? Stop by between 2:45–3:30 PM
Feel free to bring your school supplies to drop off! That way backpacks won’t feel like you're packing for a week-long hike....but if you can’t make it to Open House, no worries at all. I’ll see you bright and early on Tuesday, September 2nd for the first day of school! Along with your supplies, please bring:
📚 A chapter book to dive into
🍎 A small, healthy snack to keep those brains fueled
I can’t wait for a year filled with laughter, learning, creativity, and community. See you soon in Room D-6!
With Love,
Ms. Olson
My two sisters and I!♥️
If you have never loved social studies.... let me try to change your opinion this year.....📖
This is a photo of me riding a horse through Garden of the Gods this summer in Colorado!
Student Council basketball game last year!
(believe it or not the teachers lost...)
Fun Fact: In 2019, I traveled to South Africa on a volunteer teaching trip....and while I was there, I had the incredible chance to walk with elephants! 🐘
