Flames flare during a classroom demonstration as Ms. Crowell and Mr. Harms guide students through a combustion experiment on Halloween 2025. The hands on lesson turned a scientific concept into a visual experience. “We want students to experience science, not just read about it,” Harms said. “When they can actually see the reaction and feel the energy in the room, it becomes something they understand deeper. That kind of hands on learning helps concepts stick with them far beyond the classroom.”
