A fun way to check if your safe!

Be safe on the Internet!

We want to make sure that you are safe on the internet.  Because we care!

This is how to be safe on the internet. One of the biggest reasons people get into your account is from you sharing your password. Never share your password with anyone! Even if you trust someone...   DON'T DO IT!!! Always know to stay away from inappropriate websites. Never even think about using websites you don't have permission to be on.

Passwords

Why do we have passwords?

Reason 1 : We want everybody's accounts to be safe.

Reason two: It is your account and it has your stuff that YOU are working on! If someone would get into your account they could delete your progress, and I do not think ANYBODY wants that.

Reason three: Some one could hack your account and download something  that is not appropriate.

Reason four:  We want you to be safe! If people find your account they could find out your personal information, and that could be bad!

If you think someone has been in your account, contact Technology immediately!  They can help!

(You can share the password with your parents.)

DO NOT SHARE YOUR PASSWORD!!

(Not even if it's your BFF!)

Your password should at least 8 characters long with at least 2 numbers  (Characters  are numbers or letters).

You can always keep your passwords in a book. That way you know where it is at the right time.

If google gives you a notification that you need to check  your password  you should.  Because  that means that someone hacked you or got in to your account.  NEVER CLICK ON THE LINK IN EMAIL, ASKING TO CHECK A PASSWORD!

Watch for strange activity on your account.   Let an adult know right away if anything doesn't seem right.

If you need to change your school password, contact Tech or talk to your teacher.  They can help you!

How often should you change your password?

At Home, you should change your password if you get hacked or if you forget your password . You should probably change it 2 times a year.

If you think you need to change your school password, talk to your teacher.

Now you should be password safety experts!!!!

Online Predators

NEVER SHARE INFORMATION ABOUT YOURSELF!

Sharing information about yourself.

You only want to share your location and address with people you know and TRUST!

Do you know who you are talking to?

Don't be fooled by people online!  They may not be the person they say they are!  You could be talking to someone on the other side of the world, or your neighbor across the street.  You just never know!

Don't send photos of your face to random people you don't know in real life!

It's dangerous for everybody! You could get hurt.

Don't text people you don't know or call them!  Remember they are a Stranger and may not be who they say they are!

Never give out personal information to Strangers!  This is VERY Dangerous!

This is how to be safe on the internet. First I will show you what not to do and then I will show you what to do.

"Hey, can I use your password to get in your account to help you on school work?"

"Sure! Why wouldn't I give it to you?"

This is a non example because someone could use that to get in your account and see your private information.

"Hey can I get your email and password."

" No, thats not safe for me or you."

Don't text people you don't know!

They are Strangers!

Don't face time people you don't know!

This is like letting a stranger into your home!  You wouldn't do that would you!?

"Keep yourself and your family safe!"

Talk to your friends and family about being safe online.  Help them understand online safety is everyones business.

You wouldn't let a stranger walk into your home!  Giving out personal information online is the same thing!
