Prairie High School Band Directors

Mr. Jimmerson is in his 11th year at Prairie and 24th year of teaching. He graduated from Simpson College in 1997 and previously was the Director of Bands at Carroll HS and Atlantic HS, both in western Iowa, followed by 8 years in Minnesota at Waseca HS. Outside of being a teacher, trombonist and pianist, he enjoys running with our dog Nero, cooking, spending time outside, and doing just about anything with our kids.

Mr. Oldenkamp is in his 3rd year at Prairie High School. Before coming to Prairie, he taught in the Marion, Western Dubuque, and George-Little Rock School Districts. He earned my Bachelors Degree from Augustana University in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, in 2007 and a Masters of Music in Music Education and Conducting from Colorado State University in 2014. Since 2006, I have been fortunate to perform with several professional bands, orchestras, and jazz ensembles around the state.
