March 27 - 5:45pm MT
It's the last day for the 2026 Crowden Tour and it, too, has been a memorable one. We woke up bright and early to check out of our hotel in Colorado Springs and headed for the Royal Gorge Bridge and Park. And, wow, what a place. The RGBP answers the question what would happen if you created an outdoor adventure amusement park at a natural wonder. Check out some of the views from the quarter-mile plus suspension bridge!
Crowden students had a few hours to enjoy this park full of playgrounds, walks, documentary films, and glass-bottomed gondola rides. However, that the shifted from the warm summery temps that defined the trip back to a wintry cold. That's a shot of the weather on my watch from inside the visitor center. It might be hard to read but at the bottom is says, "Feels Like 23" so you might hear your kids talk in equal measure about the beauty and the blistering cold of this place. I can attest, too, from a brisk and invigorating walk across the bridge that it was, indeed, quite cold. It was, nonetheless, a fun time for all and after having lunch there we boarded the bus for Denver International Airport. The next, and likely last update, will come to you from the air.
