Resilient Avery Community Engagement began meeting in May of 2024 when a group of community members came together to explore ways to build and celebrate resilience in Avery County and it's citizens. Among other things, we wanted to create and foster healthy relationships, provide community education on trauma and resilience, and focus on the power of positive childhood experiences.
Discussions around resilience in children began in 2018 with the Avery State of the Child Conference.
R.A.C.E. meetings are on the last Tuesday of the Month at 11:30 AM. We meet at the Guy Building on the Campus of Crossnore Communities for Children. Bring your lunch or pick up something from Miracle Grounds Coffee Shop and join us for thoughtful conversation and planning. We do not meet in December.
