The Swan and Talbot is located on North street. It was known as high street between 1822 and 1841. The pub was originally named the Dog and Swan. It was perfect for an over night stay.
The Angel Inn became an important place in Wetherby between 1760 and 1840. After the decline in the coaching trade, the inn was bought by Mr Henry Crossley, who converted it into a court and a printing works.
There is a haunted story which was placed in the Swan and Talbot in room 3 upstairs. This room is haunted by 2 urchin boys who died doing work at Wetherby work house in the 1800s.
