My children: Sarah & David
The Whole Family
My teaching philosophy is centered around seeing the whole student and allowing the student to use their whole self to direct their own learning. As a secondary teacher, I also believe strongly in exposing all students to the same core content of my subject so that they have equal opportunities for careers and other experiences dependent upon that content in the future.
I was married for over 50 years to my husband, Michael, until his passing. Together, we raised two children, Sarah, 45, in Duluth, MN, and David, 39 in Bozeman, Montana. David and wife, Lisa, have three children: Alexa 14, Savannah, 12, and Weston, 8. My grandchildren are all BMX (bicycle) racers and alpine ski races. I love to watch my grandchildren race! I also have two rescue English Setters that keep me busy: Rossi, and Ace. I had three Setters until recently. Often Sarah's dogs, Ollie and Dory, come to “Grammie Camp”. They sometimes travel in a minivan with all 4 dogs!
During the summer, bicycling, sailing, attending concerts, and going to the cabin keep me busy. I also love to go to plays at the Guthrie in Minneapolis. My daughter and I have season tickets and usually go about every six weeks. I also love to go to Montana to visit, ski in the winter, camp in the summer, and enjoy time with my daughter and my son and his family.
I am a retired science and math teacher from the former Eveleth-Gilbert School district (now Rockridge) located in Eveleth, Minnesota. I have also taught in Tower, Minnesota, Gibraltar, Michigan, and Chelmsford, Ontario.
I am excited to be teaching for CCS Online. This is my 8th year! I can't wait to meet my new students. My most rewarding activities are to learn about my students, to make a connection, and to have students learn something new.
