What are we learning this year?

This year in Texas History we will learn everything about Texas starting with the geographic regions and native peoples and go through the Age of Contact. Then we will spend time learning about how Spain and then Mexico ruled over Texas. We will then learn how Texas fought for freedom from Mexico and then became part of the USA. Shortly after joining the US, Texas was involved in the Civil War. We will then take some time to learn about Texas as they enter into the 19th and 20th centuries.
