Classroom Expectations
Welcome to 6th Grade!
The goal of this class is to prepare students for their 6th Grade Math STAAR test and to give them the skills they will need to be successful in their 7th Grade Math class.

Procedures:
Students will enter the room quietly, get their ipad out, and work on the warm-up.
The lesson will continue with notes followed by an activity/assignment for students to further their learning.
Students who finish their work early, may work on missing work or homework.
Homework:
Homework will be given the last day of every school week and due the following thursday/friday (depending on our hybrid schedule).
ASSIGNMENTS/GRADES:
Students will need to download the notes on schoology every day. we will usually have notes and an activity, or notes and an assignment for a daily grade.
Late Assignments:
Assignments are due the SAME DAY they are assigned. If it is not turned in the same day, a zero will go in the grade book. Assignment dates will be clearly posted in Schoology.
Grades:
Honors:
Daily work and homework 40%
Quizzes 10%
Test- 50%
Absent:
Students will have completed notes and access to their textbook to stay caught up. Assignments will be posted in Schoology but students will still be counted absent.
students are not allowed to take unit tests from home. they may only complete homework, and daily assignments from home if they are absent.
students will be allowed 3 days to turn in make up work for full credit due to an absence
Tutorials:
Math tutorials will be from 3 pm-4 pm on Wednesdays. Parent pick-up only.
i will send a school status brodcast message regarding the date that tutorials will start this year
Classroom Rules and Expectations:
Follow directions quickly and the first time they are given.
Raise your hand before speaking or getting out of your seat.
Respect each other and your teachers.
Nothing in this room is lost. Do NOT take anything that is not yours.
I will be prepared for class and give my best effort every day.
Keep your hands, feet, and other objects to yourself.
No cell phones
Discipline:
There is an order of consequences for students’ behavior.
1. MIR - Minor Infraction Report - parent contact
2. Office Referral (after 3 MIR’s)
Tardies:
Less than 5 minutes, MIR
More than 5 minutes, office referral
Restroom:
Students are to go to the restroom in between classes during transitions. I will allow them to go if there is an emergency or if we are finished with our notes/assignment.
per district policy, students cannot go to the restroom the first or last 10 minutes of class. ( unless there is an absolute emergency)
Crosby ISD District reassignment policy:
Re-test procedure:
Student will request a re test
student will complete a re learning opportunity
student can recieve credit up to a 70% as a replacement grade
Crosby Middle School Cell Phone Policy :
CELL PHONE AND BACKPACKS: CELL PHONES ARE NOT PERMITTED IN THE CLASSROOM
WHEN STUDENTS ENTER THE ROOM THERE IS A SHELF TO PUT THEIR BACKPACK AND LUNCH BOX ON. (MY ROOM IS SMALL AND WE NEED ALL THE SPACE WE CAN IN ORDER TO GET TO SEATS AND DO ACTIVITIES.
CELL PHONES ARE TO STAY IN THEIR BACKPACKS NOT ON THE STUDENT.
IF A STUDENT DOES NOT HAVE A BACKPACK, I HAVE A CELL PHONE HOLDER ON THE WALL THAT I CAN SEE AT ALL TIMES THAT STUDENTS MAY PLACE THEIR PHONE IN.

THE ONLY THINGS STUDENTS ARE TO BRING TO THEIR DESK IS THEIR IPAD/AND CHARGER, EXPO MARKER, NOTEPAD, AND A PENCIL
