Student teacher and intern placements are coordinated district-wide through the Human Resources Department. Universities and colleges should contact Michele S. DiMauro, Director of Human Resources, directly with all placement requests to ensure a smooth coordination process.
Required Documentation for Placement
A comprehensive packet of information must be submitted with each placement request. This ensures we can match eligible student teachers and interns with the most appropriate cooperating teachers and school environments.
Step 1: Review & Outreach
Once Human Resources receives your complete packet, we immediately begin reaching out to qualified cooperating teachers who match your program requirements and teaching focus areas.
Step 2: Notification & Interview
When a placement is secured, your university or college will be notified promptly. Student teachers should then contact their assigned cooperating teacher to schedule an initial interview.
Completing all required documentation and meeting essential requirements is mandatory before beginning any student teaching placement. We've streamlined this process to ensure compliance while making it as straightforward as possible for all participants.
Important: No placement shall begin if proper paperwork and requirements are not completed and met. Please allow adequate time for processing all documentation.
