The Pratista retreat center was founded in 1986 by the Crosiers in Indonesia. From its beginning, the Crosiers of Sang Kristus envisioned it as a place for spiritual development in the hills of Cisarua, West Bandung. Gradually, the Crosiers developed the spirituality of the Pratista center as a place of service as well as shelter. Currently, Pratista consists of three parts, the Holy Cross Priory Community (Monastery and Novitiate), Retreat Houses (Pondok Tapa, Pondok Mitra, Pratista, and Pondok Delapan), and Graha ILSKI (Indonesian Liturgy Institute).
