The process for identifying gifted students in the Chestnut Ridge School District can be found on the Special Education page of our district website. Once identified, Mrs. Mannion will contact the parent in order to discuss the program, gauge strengths and interests, create a student learning plan, and set up a Gifted Individualized Education Plan (GIEP) meeting. After the GIEP meeting, the student will begin meeting with Mrs. Mannion as soon as possible.

Mrs. Mannion will send out newsletters, completed projects, and emails in order to keep parents updated on what students are up to in the program. In addition, Mrs. Mannion will contact the parents annually to review progress on goals and schedule a new GIEP meeting.
