Registration

Students will need to complete three steps to register for the Western MN Regional Science Fair and be eligible to advance to the state competition. If a student only wishes to compete at the regional fair, the first step is all that needs to be completed.

Step 1: Register for the Regional Fair

EACH student needs to complete the Participant Registration Form register for the regional fair online. Registration is due February 2nd.

All materials you submit to the Northern MN Regional Science Fair may be used on the website to help future students prepare themselves for the event. More specifically, a pdf copy of the winning paper and picture of the winning poster will be included on the website indefinitely.

Step 2: Complete Project Forms to Be Eligible for the State Competition

If the student is interested in advancing on to State or ISEF, they need to complete the proper International Science and Engineering Fair paperwork. To determine what paperwork is needed, use the ISEF Rules Wizard.

The Rules Wizard will give you a list of forms that you need to complete, based on the type of project you have.

Complete Project Registration Form including ISEF paperwork

Please be aware that any students interested in working with human subjects, vertebrate organisms or hazardous materials will need to complete the appropriate paperwork before the start of the study in order to be eligible.

Step 3: Submit Video Presentation

We strongly encourage you to follow the video guidelines provided on the Regional Competition Resource Page.  This will prevent you from having to rerecord your video if your project advances to the state competition. Videos can be uploaded via your schools WRSF GoogleDrive folder.

Registration Fees

Registration fees are $20 per project.

Teachers/Mentors: Checks for registration fees should be made out to “Western Regional Science Fair” and mailed along with a completed list of students to:
