Rob served as coach of the University of Minnesota Crookston Crops Team from 2010 through 2022. An alumnus of the Collegiate Crops Judging Contests, competing for UMN Crookston in 2005, he was proud to carry on the institution's longstanding tradition of crop judging success. When asked about his role as coach of the UMN Crookston Crops Team, Rob said: "Coaching participants in the Collegiate Crops Judging Contests was truly one of my favorite job responsibilities. I was fortunate to work with these high-achieving students, and am grateful for the opportunity to provide them with such a worthwhile experience."

Chuck, who retired from the University of Minnesota Crookston in December 2009, served as coach of the UMN Crookston Crops Team from 1969 through 2009. The Crops Team is forever indebted to Chuck for his leadership and guidance over his forty-year tenure. His tireless efforts laid the foundation for the institution's sustained success and positively impacted the lives of the students he coached. Chuck counts the successes of the UMN Crookston Crops Team and its alumni as one of the proudest accomplishments of his teaching career.
