We are hoping we can count on you, our dedicated family, friends, fans, alumni, and supporters to help enhance the Golden Eagle Softball program and provide our student-athletes with the best possible experience. We would love your help to reach our team fundraising goal of $15,000 during our 2nd Annual Hit-A-Thon!
We will hold our Hit-A-Thon on October 11, 2025 at the UMC Softball Field and our student-athletes will collect pledges ($ per foot) prior to the Hit-A-Thon. The Hit-A-Thon is an initiative designed to raise funds for the UMC Softball program. The idea behind the fundraiser is to secure pledges per foot on how far your selected student-athlete, coach, or celebrity batter can hit the softball. Pledges can also be made as a direct, flat donation.
Each batter will have 10 swings in a similar setting to an everyday batting practice. If the ball lands in the field of play, the measurement will be taken from where it first lands. If the ball is hit over the fence, we will measure the distance once the ball stops rolling. The farthest distance for each hitter will be taken to use with pledges. Foul balls will NOT count for distances but will count as a swing.
Coach Sangster has invited a few big-time power hitters to join in on the action. Along with the UMC Softball student-athletes, coach and celebrity batters Regal the Eagle, Senior Admissions Counselor - Ethan Christopherson, Director of Outreach and Engagement - Michelle Christopherson, Strength & Conditioning Coach - Mitch Pomeroy, Assistant Athletic Director of Athletic Operations - Hunter Plante, Faculty Athletics Representative- Tim Dudley, and Assistant Softball Coach - Grace Clouser have all agreed to a one-day deal which will allow them to swing for the fences!
The hit-a-thon will be live-streamed with an announcer on October 11, 2025 at 12 PM Central Time if you would like to follow along. After the hit-a-thon, we will contact everyone who pledged to let them know their final total along with details of how to complete their contribution.
How Can I Help?
There are two ways you can give to our Hit-A-Thon Campaign in October!
1. Make a pledge to support your favorite UMC Softball player in our Hit-A-Thon : Fill out our online form to pledge to support a student-athlete for the hit-a-thon. The longest ball hit by the student-athlete at the hit-a-thon will be the distance used to determine how much someone gives if they choose to pledge $ per foot. After the hit-a-thon, we will contact everyone who pledged to let them know their final total along with details of how to complete their contribution.
