After five years of rescuing reptiles, Crimson Exotics Reptile Rescue is saying goodbye. We want to extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who has made this journey possible. If you have ever been a supporter, volunteer, foster, or adopter for Crimson Exotics, we cannot thank you enough.
In just five years, we had the honor of helping reptiles across more than half of the 50 states—making history as the first multi-state reptile rescue in the U.S. This wouldn't have been possible without your help.
While our rescue operations are coming to an end, our legacy will continue to shine through each reptile that has found a loving home with the help of Crimson Exotics Reptile Rescue.
To each of you who have adopted from us: our commitment stands. Our team remains available to support you with any questions that may arise. Please continue to reach out to your reptile's foster.
Finally, we would like to announce that we have selected Badgerland Reptile Rescue to be our partner in this transition. At the end of this process, Badgerland received our remaining monetary resources and supplies. As our Transition Partner, Badgerland will offer their wealth of knowledge and support to Crimson Exotics stakeholders.
Thank you for being part of our journey over the last five years. We couldn't have done it without you.
With deepest appreciation,
The Crimson Exotics Team
As it winds down operations, Crimson Exotics Reptile Rescue has announced Badgerland Reptile Rescue of Kenosha, Wisconsin as its Transition Partner Organization. Badgerland received Crimson Exotics' financial resources and remaining supplies to further its mission of helping reptiles in need. Additionally, Badgerland will provide resources—including a wealth of information and support—to Crimson Exotics' stakeholders.
Crimson Exotics was the United States' first foster-based reptile rescue group. Throughout its time, Crimson Exotics helped dozens of animals in over half of the fifty United States find loving forever homes. (View adopted animals here.)
Crimson Exotics Reptile Rescue was founded in late 2019 by then-teenagers Hunter Houck and Emma Jara. Over five years, Houck and Jara, with the support of many, grew the organization into a revolutionary multi-state reptile rescue with foster homes across the United States. Crimson Exotics was the first rescue organization to implement overnight shipping of live reptiles as a primary means of transportation, a practice that had been safely developed by reptile breeders for many years. They saw an opportunity to use live-reptile shipping to provide access to reptile rescue services for people with no access in their home communities. Their idea worked, and the rest is history.
Crimson Exotics Reptile Rescue's general email inbox and phone number were monitored for one year after our closure, but we can no longer monitor general inquiries. CERR's fosters remain available to offer support regarding animals adopted from us.
Please contact your adopted animal's foster directly with any questions. If you have lost your foster's contact information, kindly contact our Transition Partner Organization and request to be put in touch with a former Crimson Exotics board member. Our board members will put you in contact with your animal's foster.
Please contact our Transition Partner Organization with general inquiries, too, as our general inbox is now inactive.
