Notices

There are three different types of Notices within the Special Education processes. Each of them must be provided to parents/guardians in accordance to IDEA.

This includes providing them: (1) when they are legally required; (2) in the native language of the parent; and (3) using language that is understandable to the general public

Procedural Safeguard Notice (PSN): This notice is a packet of information which explains to parents their legal rights as part of the special education process.

Meeting Notices: These notices are provided to the parent PRIOR TO A MEETING to inform them of the date, time, location, purpose, and expected participants for any meeting related to the evaluation or IEP of their child.

Prior Written Notices: These notices are provided to the parent AFTER A MEETING to summarize the decisions that were made during the meeting related to the evaluation or IEP (services and placement) of their child.
