The Digital Learning Coaches will collaborate with teachers to examine how integrating technology in their classrooms can address classroom management, enhance teaching and learning, and/or foster student engagement and self-sufficiency.
Coaching would involve the 5 Step Coaching Model (Identify, Investigate, Select, Implement, Reflect).
This collaboration service is designed around a teacher's specific needs. Meaning that a teacher may have already identified an EdTech application they would like to incorporate into their learning environment and simply need:
Additional training on extending their knowledge of the application.
Guidance on how to implement it within their learning environment through modeling and/or co-teaching lessons and activities.
Digital Learning Coaches will collaboratively explore tools that use the power of social media to help students learn and teachers connect.
In a classroom, these tools could include online discussion boards, virtual classrooms, and social media sites for sharing resources, tips, and notes. All while encouraging collaboration amongst peers; near and far.
Digital Learning Coaches will collaboratively explore tools that can help make lessons fun, interesting, and more effective.
The use of these tools would allow teachers to leverage their students’ existing digital skills by allowing them to engage in interactive learning experiences where they have control over the content.
Digital Learning Coaches will collaboratively explore tools tools to pull together great lessons and design amazing and memorable student projects.
Assistance in this category could look like helping a PLC use an online lesson planner that connects with state standards and facilitates collaboration with other team members.
Digital Learning Coaches can provide assistance and training so that the technology already available to teachers works for them.
Assistance in this category could look like providing training on how to use new hardware in the classroom, such as:
