Today I am going to tell you the best seven impressive dog tricks that you can start teaching your pet at any time in their life. A dog doesn't have to be a puppy to learn a trick. Yes, even old dogs can learn new tricks.
Some tricks you can teach your dog are kiss, speak, wave, and sit pretty. But there are many more. The tricks will fill your pup with mental stimulation and physical activity. Keep reading to find out about the best tricks EVER!
One of the easiest dog tricks is a doggie kiss. But not EVERYBODY likes a big wet slobbery kiss from a ball of joy. To train your dog you don't have to be an expert. You can teach your dog any tricks you want, if you put your mind to it.
This trick is a lot of fun and is a building block for other dog tricks such as playing dead. Putting the tricks on command allows your dog to bark in any place and you can have control over your dogs' barking. It's also fun to show off what you can do to your friends and family. Many dog trainers recommend that speaking is an easy and fun trick to teach your dog.
You can train your dog to lift their paw and wave. This is a great trick and is very cute to watch. Training your dog to wave hello and good-bye is a very simple dog trick to start by training your dog to shake paws with them.
This trick is similar to the beg command. The sit pretty trick has your dog clinging on to their back legs while raising their front legs in a seated position. The posture is so cute and it is picture perfect every time.
You hold a treat near your dog's nose and make the move in a different direction. There are more good ways to bond with your dog while reinforcing more basic commands that you can use daily. Plus it's a great way to brag to friends. By showing your friends, they will be amazed by your dog's tricks.
Finally once your pup knows how to back up on the command you can use it to do many things. Backing up is very easy to train with only a few straps, to give the command. Backing up is a really good and fun trick that can come in handy at any time.
There are two methods on how to do the "Close the Door" trick, and I will tell you both of them.
First is the Post-It Note Method. To do this method you will introduce a Post-it Note in a quiet and calm place. Next, hold out the Post-It Note in front of your dog. Once your dog is interested and sniffs at the item, make a huge deal and give him or her a treat.
After that, Repeat, Repeat and... REPEAT!!!!!!! until the dog goes straight to the Post-It Note.
Next, put the Post-It Note on your hand and say "nose touch." If the dog doesn't go and touch the Post-It Note with its nose, then put a treat in your hand that has the Post-It Note and repeat this step until the dog can touch the Post-It Note with its nose.
After this step, put the Post-It Note on the door and see if he can push it shut. If he can't, then keep encouraging him to push harder and reward him just for the slightest touch.
Finally, introduce the command and keep it short and simple. Last but not least, remove the Post-It Note and try anther door.
The second method is to paw the door shut. First, choose a light door that your dog can reach, like a cabinet door.
Next, use the "Give Paw" command and place a reward treat such as a chicken or hot dog piece in your hand with a closed fist.
Place your closed fist on the door. Then call your dog over to do the "Shake" command until his paw touches the door.
Praise your door when he touches the door. Then open the door and tap it to encourage him to touch it again until he get the hang of it.
Short and simple commands are always most useful for teaching any trick.
Now you know the steps, try out some of these tricks with your puppy. Check out the videos and keep practicing, and remember to reward your dog for small successes until he or she gets the hang of the tricks. Your pet will love you for the attention and mental stimulation.
