With reclassification to 8A, Boys’ HS Volleyball is expanding fast and we’re preparing for at least five state champions next season!
This past spring, 135 teams competed, and we hosted the State Championships at Queens University, crowning 3 Champs:
• 1–3A: TMSA
• 4A: West Forsyth
• Private: Covenant Day
In 2026, with over 160+ teams projected, we plan to recognize champions in:
• 1–6A
• 7A
• 8A
• Private
• 6A (tentative breakout)
(current spring 2026 participation list at bottom)
Championship Day for NCHSAA schools is already scheduled for May 16, 2026 at Queens University. (Private school is May 9th)
We’ll be submitting our official sanctioning request to the NCHSAA at the Spring 2026 meeting. If approved, the first sanctioned season could be Spring 2027.
2025-26 is the final year we can offer grant funding to first-year teams. Once the sport is sanctioned, that support will likely no longer be available.
We make it as easy as possible to get started:
We handle all scheduling & post-season planning.
Only 8 matches are needed for playoff eligibility (avg season is 16 matches)
Abbreviated Turn-Key and Saturday-only season options available
Play in Spring, Matches mid march - mid may.
Same rules and equipment as girls’ volleyball - just a higher net
There is a clear and growing desire to play from guys all across our state. Start now to give your athletes a chance to get ahead of the curve before it becomes sanctioned.
