Hi there, and welcome!
I'm Dawn Grady—though on the schedule and official documents, you'll see Kimberly Stokes Grady (just to keep things interesting 😄).

I’m originally from North Carolina, but I grew up in Ohio (Go Bucks!). Eventually, I made my way back to NC and studied at CCC, ECU, and UNCW. Over the years, I’ve had the pleasure of teaching English at WCM, HJM, and now here at NBHS.

In my classroom, I focus on helping students grow as thinkers, collaborators, and communicators. I love using creative teaching strategies and tech tools to keep things engaging and meaningful.

When I’m not teaching, you’ll find me diving into a good sci-fi or fantasy book, planning my next travel adventure, or staying curious about new tech. I also really enjoy learning from our students—they always bring such fresh ideas and energy to class.
