Wk 6 & 7-4/27-5/ 4- Matisee Collage
Hi All! Remember only 20 minutes of making art is required each week.
Week 1: This week you’ll watch a read a long about Henri Matisse then start to cut out shapes to make your collage.( Keep your cut out pieces in a zip bag, envelope or just put them in a special place till next week)
Week 2: Next week you'll finish cutting out shapes of paper then gluing them or taping them down to make your collage.
Collage: is the gluing or taping of materials to a surface.
Please use the art supplies you have at home such as construction paper, colored pencils, crayons, markers, paint or whatever is available. If you don’t have colored or construction paper then color white paper with whatever you have around like Henri Matisse did! If you don’t have glue, use tape!
Please remember there are no mistakes in art, only opportunities to learn and solve problems. The most important thing is to have fun making art and just enjoy, there is no Right or Wrong way to create!

Week 5- Self Portait-(Faith Ringgold)
This week you will be doing a read a long and then creating a self portrait. 20 minutes of Art per week is all you have to do, but please do more if you want!
Please use the art supplies you have at home such as pencils, colored pencils, crayons, construction paper, markers, paint or whatever is available. Please remember there are no mistakes in art, only opportunities to learn and solve problems. The most important thing is to have fun making art and just enjoy, there is no Right or Wrong way to create!
1) Watch the read a long of the Artist Faith Ringgold reading her story TAR BEACH.
2) After, imagine you are flying over a place you would like to own, the moon, the arctic, Disneyland, your own island, a beach,wherever you want to own!
3) Draw a self portrait of you flying over the place you want to own.
4) You can draw it with whatever drawing materials are in your house. You can always draw it in pencil then go over your drawing with a dark marker (black or dark blue) or sharpie. Remember to draw you flying and fill the page with lots of details of the place you have choosen!
5) Use color to fill in your picture, crayons, markers, paint etc. Remember you can overlapp colors to make your picture more rich!
