January the 30th – SCHOOL DAY OF NON-VIOLENCE AND PEACE
The incredible story of Malala, told on the TikTakDraw channel, shows how Malala Yousafzai, Pakistani activist, blogger and student, received the Nobel Peace Prize in 2014, at the age of 17, becoming a reference for this School Day of Non-violence and Peace. Don't miss her story
Education for tolerance, solidarity, harmony, respect for human rights, non-violence and peace are reasons to remember the 30th of January.
This day marks the anniversary of the death of Mahatma Gandhi (India, 1869-1948), a pacifist leader who defended and promoted non-violence and peaceful resistance to injustice, and who was killed for defending these ideas.
The School Day of Non-violence and Peace, given its main theme of non-violence, conflict resolution and coexistence, can be worked on at all levels of education, from Early Childhood Education to Secondary Education.
What can we learn from the School Day of Non-violence and Peace?
"There is no way to peace: peace is the way", Mahatma Ghandi.
This is the essence of the celebration of this day.
