We have students at CRA that have severe peanut/nut allergies. Strict avoidance of peanut/nut products is the only way to prevent a life threatening allergic reaction. We are asking your assistance in providing those students with a safe learning environment here at CRA. WE ARE A PEANUT/NUT FREE SCHOOL, so please do not send any products for your child that might contain them. We appreciate your support so much, and if you have any questions please contact me. I love our children so much and can not wait to see them and protect them while they are here!

CROWLEY'S RIDGE ACADEMY SCHOOL NURSE GUIDELINES
My name is Leigh An Taylor RN.; this will be my 17th year at CRA. I have 3 children who are CRA graduates and 3 Grandchildren enrolled. GO FALCONS!!!
There are five major responsibilities with my position:
Immunizations- all students must have required immunizations in order to attend school. Students have a 30-day grace period to comply. Immunizations are available at your local Health Department for a nominal fee.
Hearing and vision screenings given to all students. This is done in early fall during students' class time.
Scoliosis screening for 5th and 6th grade girls and 6th grade boys. This screening is done in the early spring.
Take care of the faculty and staff of CRA. Blood pressure checks, OTC medications, etc.
Take care of our students!
Guidelines used to send students home "sick":
Temperature over 100 degrees.
Visible vomiting (must be witnessed by an adult).
Head lice (students need to be clear of nits before returning to classes).
Pink eye-documented by three of the four symptoms. (90% of pink eye is allergy eye)
Unrelieved migraine headache (after 30 minutes of downtime).
Wounds requiring stitches.
Obvious emergencies.
Medication policy for CRA: For daily "aches and pains", parental permission must be obtained for school health update form for a student to receive Tylenol (Acetaminophen), Advil Ibuprofen), Midol, or cold medicine.
I believe that a Christian education is one of the most important things going on in the lives of our students. It is my goal to keep students in school whenever possible.
