• Abstracts must be in English language.
• Abstracts must be no more than 300 words in length.
• Abstracts must follow the standard abstract composition (Background, Aims and/or Hypothesis, Methods, Results and Conclusion).
• In-text citations are not required.
• Avoid school-specific jargon. OCURA is open to all schools of research, meaning you will be presenting your work to an audience that may be unfamiliar with your research area.
• It is acceptable to have results pending. If you do not have results to report at time of abstract submission, please include what you expect your results to be, and potential conclusions from expected results.
Please note: Along with your abstract submission, you will be asked to:
select your preferred presentation style,
identify all authors (including presenting student, primary research supervisor etc.)
verify your student status by uploading a form of student ID
provide acknowledgement of any funding, conflict of interest, and/or ethics approvals

A 10 minute oral presentation accompanied by a PowerPoint (or similar) displayed on-screen and subsequent 5 minute Q&A session.
A 5 minute verbal pitch accompanied by a single-page poster displayed on-screen and subsequent 5 minute Q&A session.

All university students Bachelor and Bachelor Honours level in any discipline.
1st years through to 4th AND Honours years,
AND recently graduated but less that than 12months post-graduation students are welcome to submit to or attend OCURA.
All pre-Confirmation of Candidature Higher Research Degree/PhD students, 1st year Masters students (or equiv. part-time), Graduate Certificate of Research Students (or equiv. tertiary certification) in any discipline are welcome to submit to or attend OCURA.
We welcome attendance from interested audience members. These may be keynote speakers or workshop facilitators, supervisors, researchers, other students or peers, colleagues, friends, family, industry partners, or general community members.

OCURA is the first conference that many students have attended or presented their research at, particularly in an all-virtual environment.
