AVID's Mission

AVID's mission is to close the opportunity gap by preparing all students for college readiness and success in a global society. Learn more about AVID here at AVID's official website.

Columbia Public Schools adopted AVID in 2013-2014

AVID has been changing the lives of students - and teachers - in our district since 2013. AVID does not just benefit the students enrolled in the elective but the school, the teachers, the staff, and the student body as a whole.

AVID Schoolwide

AVID is not just a class; it is also a philosophy, or a way of doing the business of school. A strong AVID system transforms the Instruction, Systems, Leadership, and Culture of a school, enduring college readiness for all AVID Elective students and improved academic performance for all students based on increased opportunities.
