In a collaborative effort with Battle's AP Art teachers (Jobe & Spriggs), this student piece won the MAEA/MAAE State Senate Art Award and was displayed in the State Capitol in 2024 - Impressive!
This 2024 collaborative work was selected by the City of Columbia's Office of Cultural Affairs for the Bethel & Nifong Blvd Traffic Box Art. A compilation of 17 Battle Artists depicts and honors the natural beauty of Bethel Park and the surrounding architecture.
This piece won the MAEA/MAAE State Senate Art Award and was displayed in the State Capitol in 2023, representing Senate District 19! Only one piece per district was selected to showcase the fine arts programs in all 34 state senate districts.
In 2013, with the support of a Missouri Arts Council Grant, Mrs. Spriggs' art classes worked with Kansas City based sculptor, Beth Nybeck. The Artist in Residency program produced a permanent installation at the entrance of Battle, involving 80 plus students.
AP Students collaborated to create a winning artwork for the City of Columbia's Office of Cultural Affairs Traffic Box Art Contest in 2018. Additionally, a printed mural was installed at Battle in the stairwell between F & G halls to connect to our public art!
This piece won the MAEA/MAAE State Senate Art Award and was displayed in the State Capitol in 2020 - Wow!

Check out this amazing gift from a former student who returned in 2016, his freshmen year of college, to present a portrait he had made of me giving him my "don't procrastinate" look. He nailed it! Ha!

This former Battle Spartan was the first student to win an art installation award, creating a 50' long water serpent at the Columbia Art League's annual Art in the Park festival in 2018.
