The number one goal for summer reading is to celebrate books both school and district-wide!
You are required to read a total of 5 books this summer.
Book 1: CPS Grade Level Book
Book 2: PAUS Community Book: Project F
Book 3: Your choice
Book 4: Your choice
Book 5: Your choice
When you choose your choice books, be sure to choose books, genres, authors, and formats that you know you like.
You have a reading log to complete during the summer. You can find a digital version of the reading log on Google Classroom.
The expectation is that you come to school in the fall ready to discuss any of the books you read this summer with your ELA teacher!
You are expected to read for 20 minutes a day, or about 2.5 hours per week.
Reading for at least 20 minutes a day will help to ensure that you are ready to jump right into your ELA class in September!
