CRLS Global Studies Certificate Program
Welcome!
Mission of the Program
The Global Studies Certificate (GSC) Program at Cambridge Rindge and Latin School promotes student engagement in global studies through an emphasis on the Asia Society’s global competence skills: investigating the world, weighing perspectives, communicating ideas, taking action, and applying disciplinary and interdisciplinary expertise in authentic ways. It is critical that our students understand that their reality is authentic, but not exclusive, and that to better understand how the world works, they must engage in a rigorous examination of perspectives, rooted in history and culture, in order to act mindfully to improve the world in which they live.
This site is designed for students at CRLS who would like to deepen their global education studies and skills. The site is divided into five main pages, listed below.
GSC Application - This page has application information and the link to the application itself.
GSC Program Requirements - This page has information about the requirements of the program, including global course offerings, portfolio requirements, monthly meeting information, events requirements, the international experience paperwork, an overview of the senior seminar, and a brief description of the senior capstone project.
Global Issues Resource Hub - This page has a list of global issues with detailed resources for each, including websites, articles, videos, and podcasts. This is a key page for those wanting more information about major global issues facing the world today.
If you have questions about the program, feel free to email Ms. Otty, History Teacher and GSC Program Director, at rotty@cpsd.us.
