Theatre is a collaborative art form. Tech for a Drama Company production at CRLS involves anything that an actor isn't doing on stage but that directly affects the world in which a character exists. The range of responsibilities is vast - you could be responsible for something as simple as organizing the t-shirt order for the company or hanging up posters in the community, to building/painting the scenery, working on costumes or lighting. There are many possibilities for artists of all types; digital media and projections, fine detail work for stage props or costumes, carpentry and engineering of scenery and furniture color mixing with paint and/or light. The art or craft of "Tech" is up to the individual and the possibilities are endless.

We are currently seeking artists of all types. No experience necessary. At the moment we are in dire need of 2-D artists willing to collaborate with 3-D artists.

Unlike the actors' rehearsal schedule, the tech schedule doesn't change much. On this tab you will find all documents necessary to be involved with the production end of this show. It is pretty straight forward. The performance dates, long nights and strike dates will not change. You will need to turn in a signed "Company Application" and "Important Dates" form before participating in the CRLS musical.

If deciding between participating in the musical or participating in a sport or joining a club (or 2 or 3), please be realistic with your commitments and the time you have available to do all the wonderful thing CRLS has to offer. I can't stress the importance of good attendance and the willingness to try new things. There have been times when students have shown up to work on the show in the beginning of the musical, and then mid-way through the process decided to move on to other extra curricular activities. This adds a lot of extra work because it involves figuring out what is going on with a lot of unfinished small projects. If you think you would like to participate only in a limited capacity or for a short period of time, please let us know and we can let you know what dates you can come in to do drop in work.

If you have any questions please don't hesitate to email the Technical Director, Joanne Farwell jfarwell@cpsd.us
