Arrival and Dismissal Protocols
Morning Arrival
Walkers:
Will enter the school grounds through the gate(s) that correspond to their grade level(s). (See below)
NOTE: All walkers must enter the school grounds through the gates located on Upton St. No other entrances are accessible to students. Please do not walk through the back parking lot of the building.
Students enter the building according to grade level (to avoid confusion on the students’ part). For example,
JK/K & Grade 1 enter/exit through the Magazine St side door (#8)
Gr. 2 - 4 enter/exit through the main entrance (#1)
Gr. 5 - 8 enter/exit through the Garden side door (#2)
Bus students:
Buses will pull up on Upton St.
All students will exit the bus and enter the grounds through the Gate(s) that correspond to their grade(s)
All bus students will maintain sufficient space between themselves
Only ONE bus will drop off students at one time. If more than one bus arrives at the same time, all other buses will wait to drop off students until the bus at the head of the line has pulled away
We will have staff outside to help with the supervision of arrival and dismissal. Parents and caregivers who are dropping off are asked to remain with their child/children until the doors open at 8:40 AM. ALL parents and children are asked to not congregate on the sidewalk in front of the building.
Non-classroom teachers and support staff will be outside and available between 8:35 -8:55 AM to assist families who arrive after 8:40 AM. Families may not leave their children until 8:40 AM when the bell rings.
Procedure for those who enter during the day (emergencies, essential services, etc.)
Visitors to the school will be extremely limited. They must show that they are wearing face coverings prior to entering the building, wash or sanitize their hands and sign in at the Main Office.
Afternoon Dismissal
Dismissal for walkers will be at the same location as arrival.
Dismissal for bus students will be conducted by classroom teachers and paraprofessionals and will be called down over the loudspeaker. Students will be escorted out of the building through the SAME doors they entered in the morning.
