Dear Parent (s) or Guardian(s):
We are your child’s grade 8 teachers. To ensure that your child has the best possible learning environment, we have developed the following Classroom Contract. These expectations are for all students. We will do our best to support your child and appreciate your support as well.
Class Expectations for the students:
1. Be considerate and respect others and raise hand to speak.
2. Arrive to class on time and be prepared.
3. Begin class by doing expected requirements.
4. Do your OWN work and NOT COPY other students’ work.
5. Make-up missed tests on the first day when returning to class unless the teacher feels that the circumstances dictate otherwise.
6. Be responsible for your own work when absent from class
7. Enjoy learning and do your best each and every day. Participation is expected. Participation involves critical thinking, reading, note taking or outlining, essay writing, problem solving, discussion and listening.
8. Electronic devices should be off and not seen. Students can be reached through the school office.
9. Assignments or projects not completed will receive a zero grade.
Homework:
All homework is due in class the day after it is assigned during the class period unless otherwise noted. If any assignment or parent signature is submitted electronically it must be done prior to the start of the school day to be considered on time. Homework can NOT be handed in late. A missed homework is a “0.”
Lateness:
Lateness to class is unacceptable. Lateness to all classes will be recorded. Any student with three “lates” to any combination of classes will serve detention. After the two detentions if the student is not correcting their behavior referrals will be made for further disciplinary actions.
We thank you in advance for your support,
Mrs. Arata, Mr. Bello, Mr. Como, Mrs. D’Amico, Mrs. Dornicik, Mrs. Foraker, Mr. Krummenacker, Mrs. Menuzzo, Mrs. Palma, Mrs. Tully, Ms. Woznick
