Class Procedures and Expectations

I. Materials:

1. spiral binder and loose-leaf paper

2. pencils

3. TI-84+ calculator

II. Grading:

15% Homework

15% Spiral Reviews

45% Tests

25% Quizzes

III. Assignments:

1. Homework will be posted on Google Classroom every day. It MUST be completed and submitted on Google classroom by 8am the next day. Solutions will be posted and questions will be answered in class.

- Homework assignments will NOT be accepted late and work is to be NEAT!! Do not expect to earn credit for a homework assignment with no work. If the work is on another sheet of paper, I need to see that paper.

- Each assignment will be worth 2 points (2 = completed with all work, 1 = partially completed, 0 = did not turn in assignment).

- If you miss a homework assignment due to absence, see me and have the assignment completed for the next class.

2. Spiral Reviews will usually be on ALEKS and will be a series of problems on topics from previous units. They will be assigned the day of each test and due a few days later. These WILL be graded for accuracy but you will be allowed multiple attempts to get the correct answer.

3. Tests will be announced ahead of time; quizzes may or may not be announced so be prepared at all times and come to extra help as soon as you are unsure about something!! Every week you will have at least one test or quiz.

4. Be prepared to class every day, complete do now questions, answer questions and ask questions during class, and work well in groups when we have group work (if possible).

5. Failure to follow these guidelines will result in a lowered grade.

IV. Making up work:

1. Daily homework is due at the beginning of the next class you are present for.

2. If extra help is needed to understand the missed lesson, see me as soon as you return to school to set up a time to meet.

3. If you miss a quiz or test you must arrange a time to make it up as soon as you return to school.

4. It is your responsibility to make up missed assignments!!

V. Classroom Guidelines:

1. Be on time! You must be in your seat starting to work on the “do now” problem when the bell rings.

2. Be prepared! Bring daily-required materials to class EVERY day. You will NOT be permitted to return to your locker after the bell rings.

3. Be respectful! Show respect to everyone and everything. (No name calling, talking when someone else is talking, or interfering with the education of another student.)

4. The teacher dismisses the class, not the bell
