What Does It Mean To Have An "Open Encumbrance?"
To have an open encumbrance means, a purchase order (PO), contract PO (C-PO), or unconverted requisition (UR) is showing on the encumbrance report because it's not fully paid out.
There are reasons why an open encumbrance PO, C-PO, or UR is showing up on the report. The information below will walk you through the steps on understanding how to review and submit your encumbrance report.
To begin the "Encumbrance Improvement" process review the following:
Step 1. Review "The Encumbrance Checklist" before you start the process.
Step 2. Review "AP 1250 CIN: Fully Entered Invoices With Error Info" - This additional supporting document will identify the errors that are on your report, but might now show on the encumbrance report.
Step 3. Now you are ready to run the "EN3102 CIN: PO Detail - Open Encumbrance" report.
