About Your Teacher

My name is Mrs. Frideres.

It's not too hard to pronounce:  FREE -DERS.  This is my seventh year teaching English/ Language Arts at Caledonia Area Public Schools. I teach two of the three sections of English 9 and Alternative Delivery of Specialized Instructional Services (ADSIS) Reading. ADSIS Reading is a reading intervention class designed for helping reluctant readers advance their skills and relationships with reading.

I have taught a variety of English classes at Caledonia Middle/High School over the last six years. I have a Bachelor of Arts in English from Luther College, a Master of Arts in Literacy Education from Saint Mary's University, and a Traffic Safety/Drivers Education Graduate Certificate from St. Cloud University.

Believe it or not, your teachers have lives!  So here's a little bit about my life and a few pictures to help you get to know me better.

I am a WIFE.  My husband, Drake, and I recently celebrated our first wedding anniversary.  We love to go on road trips together, especially for Iowa State Football games and camping. Drake is a district sales manager for TriCal Superior Forage.

I am a MOM-TO-BE. Baby Frideres is due November 1st, so I will be on maternity leave most of second quarter and some of third quarter.

I am a RUNNER.  I ran cross country and track in high school and college, and while I currently do not average as many miles as I once did, I still enjoy running five or six days a week. I am not currently training for anything, but I would love to run a 10K trail run soon as I frequently visit the Hixon and Gateway trails in La Crosse.

I am a TRAVELER.  Getting in a car or on an airplane might be my favorite thing to do.  I've been fortunate enough to travel to three different countries and over twenty states. This summer we traveled to Montana, North Carolina, and northern Wisconsin.
