Incoming Students:
Incoming 9th Grade Students
Placement auditions took place in March. Please reach out to Mr. Mascari to schedule an audition if you would like to partipate in an advanced level ensemble next year.
Incoming 7th Grade Students
Auditions for advanced level Performing Arts classes are on Thursday, June 4, 10am - 12pm, after your math placement test.

Whitney Young has one of the best orchestra programs in the City of Chicago. If you play a string instrument, and you're shopping around for a selective enrollment high school, you can't do much better than the orchestras at Whitney Young!
Whether you've never played an instrument before, or you've been taking lessons for years and have been featured on From the Top, there's a place for you in the Orchestras at Whitney Young. Participating in an orchestra here is about two things: 1) Reaching the highest possible level of skill, technique and musicianship, and 2) sharing the experience with friends, old and new. The relationships created through musical performance will last a lifetime - one of the best ways to get plugged into the social fabric of WYMHS is to become a part of a performing arts ensemble.
