Walter Payton XC place 7th in the IHSA 2A State Meet, the best state finish in school history. Best state finals total team time in school history, 1:19.40. Best state finals team score in school history, 263pts. Best state finals average time in school history, 15:56. First All-State runner in school history (Ritvik Viniak, 17th place in 15:15).

Walter Payton XC are state qualifiers as a team for just the fourth time in school history with a 5th place finish in the state's toughest Sectional.

Walter Payton XC are REGIONAL CHAMPIONS. With a score of 29 points WPXC top the 9 team regional field and qualify for the IHSA 2A Sectional Meet!

Walter Payton XC top the 22 team field at the Mather 2 Invitational with an impressive 54 points. Great pack running seals the deal 9,10,11,12,17.

We traveled down to Peoria, IL for a preview of the state meet course. Everyone's first time running at legendary Detweiller Park gave the men some much needed course experience. A loaded First to the Finish Invite field saw 10+ ranked 2A teams. WPXC finished 11th of 55 teams with 402pts.

The men of Payton win the season opener at Lane Tech. Payton (24) Lane (31) Taft (85). Running as a pack through the mile, Payton ran relaxed and then hit the gas. The Freshmen ran in their gym uniforms and have now officially earned their checkered jersey!
