Part of my role is to ensure that students are getting support from the school in more ways than just academics. Our students have gone through a lot, and it's crucial to help them develop tools to help them overcome hardship and prepare them for after graduation to be successful!
I can meet with students to discuss: time management, goal setting, stress management, loneliness, general anxiety, grief counseling, friendship or family struggles, building and maintaining healthy relationships, self harm/suicide intervention, substance abuse intervention, bullying, crisis response, and more.
The Behavioral Health Team (BHT) consists of counselors, psychologists, social workers, case managers, and more. We meets weekly to discuss referrals from teachers, parents, and peers regarding students who seem to be having a tough time.
